IFCPP Provides the Certification Standard for Cultural Property Protection Professionals
The IFCPP offers the only professional certification for individuals responsible for cultural property protection. Our multi-tiered program provides training and certification for frontline security officers as well as their supervisors and managers. Our training and certification programs are also applicable for law enforcement officers, administrators, facility managers, human resources staff, curators, registrars, librarians, art handlers, visitor services, volunteer coordinators, and others who wish to gain crucial information and education about the latest methods available in protecting cultural, educational, and public institutions.
Our primary certification programs include:
CIPS - 1 Day
The Certified Institutional Protection Specialist (CIPS) program is designed for line officers and other staff responsible for the protection of a cultural or related institution.
CIPM I & II - 1 Day Each
The Certified Institutional Protection Manager (CIPM & CIPM II) programs are designed for those managers, directors, administrators and others responsible for the protection of a cultural or related institution.
The Certified Institutional Protection Technician (CIPT) program is designed for qualified alarm, computer, communications, and other technology experts working full-time in a cultural property protection or related environment, with primary responsibilities in technology-based duties and disciplines.

CIPI - 2-3 Days
The Certified Institutional Protection Instructor (CIPI) program is IFCPP’s train-the-trainer course designed for qualified trainers & instructors. This program provides all coursework and materials required for instruction of CIPS basic officer certification courses.
